The NHCP Museo El Deposito in San Juan City hosted a launching for the 50th anniversary edition of Renato Constantino’s 𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘗𝘩𝘪𝘭𝘪𝘱𝘱𝘪𝘯𝘦𝘴: 𝘈 𝘗𝘢𝘴𝘵 𝘙𝘦𝘷𝘪𝘴𝘪𝘵𝘦𝘥 last Friday, 29 August 2025.
Hosted by respected journalist Karmina Constantino-Torres, the program included messages from San Juan City Mayor Francis Zamora, NHCP Commissioner Dr. Francis N. Navarro, University of the Philippines Manila Professor Dr. Bernard Karganilla, and Constantino Foundation Managing Director Renato Redentor Constantino. It was organized by the Foundation and the NHCP with the valuable help of the Masters of Management Program of UP Manila, Hunters-ROTC Historical Society and the City Government of San Juan.
Among those in attendance are National Parks Development Committee Deputy Executive Director Jezreel Apelar, students from UPM, climate justice and heritage advocates, and members and friends of the Constantino family such as respected scholar Dr. Randy David and his daughter, journalist Kara David.
The audience were invited to visit the two museums in the Pinaglabanan Memorial Shrine along with the historic underground reservoir.
The 50th anniversary edition includes a new introduction by Renato Redentor Constantino which explains the circumstances surrounding the writing of the book and the connection of climate and history–something that the elder Renato and his wife and collaborator Letizia were aware even five decades ago.
