History and mobility, the climate crisis and the crisis of democracy. They came from Naga, Baguio, Cavite, Muntinlupa and all over Metro Manila to join the discussion organized by the Constantino Foundation, MNL Moves and the posse of Rommel Corro at the Linangan Gallery.
An amazing, intimate gathering of invited heritage advocates, workers, business owners, supporters of womens rights, the elderly, people with disabilities, and children, architects, community food volunteers, analysts, planners, LGBTQ activists, active mobility campaigners. Everyone looked to the past and reimagined their common future.
Most did not know most who showed up but by the event’s conclusion, all knew not only one another better but also the common tasks ahead. It was a day of decolonization and decarbonization, pedagogy, palabok, okoy, tokwa, data, #PedalPower, #PedestrianPower, and #aPastRevisited. And what a might day it was filled with 100% lovely people.
Deep bow, Aldrin Pelicano and Rommel Corro. Let’s do this again. And again. (And thank you Leandro Mangubat for the high energy image of Aldrin!)
