The Polytechnic University of the Philippines (PUP) and the Constantino Foundation officially sealed their partnership with a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) signing ceremony held at Mateo Hall, PUP Main Campus, on February 25, 2025.
This collaboration aims to promote research and trans disciplinary initiatives focused on history, environmental and climate change studies, science, and cultural and heritage conservation. Through this partnership, both institutions seek to develop programs that promote nationalism, historical awareness, sustainability, and the preservation of the nation’s rich cultural heritage.
Leading the ceremony were Dr. Manuel M. Muhi, President of PUP, and Mr. Renato Redentor Constantino, President of the Constantino Foundation. The signing was witnessed by key university officials, including Dr. Anna Ruby P. Gapasin, Vice President for Research, Extension, and Development; Dir. Jim Fernando, Director of Student Services; and Dr. Joseph Reylan Viray, Director of the Research Institute for Culture and Language.
Also present were Assoc. Prof. Merdeka Morales, Chief of the Center for Creative Writing; Assoc. Prof. Alvin Ortiz, Chief of the Center for Language and Literary Studies; and Ms. Jenny Saulo, from the Research Institute for Human and Social Development (RIHSD).
With the MOU in place, PUP and the Constantino Foundation will collaborate on projects that engage students, faculty, and researchers in transdisciplinary efforts to address contemporary issues related to historical consciousness, environmental sustainability, and the conservation of Filipino cultural heritage.
