The work of IYAS is so vital to nation-building. They hone the craft of writing in Filipino languages, because writers are the keepers of our people’s memory. It was an honor to provide this year’s provocation lecture, this time held at the beautiful Colegio San Agustin in Bacolod. The next day we all went to Sagay.
The Constantino Foundation is a proud supporter of this essential national initiative. As the workshop organizers wrote:
“PULÚS: usefulness, service, help. To some: an obligation, to others, pointless.
“The 24th IYAS La Salle National Writers’ Workshop panelists and fellows spent time at Colegio San Agustin-Bacolod Auditorium yesterday, April 23rd, for the provocation lecture The Importance of Getting Lost: Cognate Endings in a Climate of Uncertainty by Mr. Red Constantino, on the two sides of ecocentric literature: the urgency for change, and the acknowledgment of its difficult actionability.
“Many thanks to Rev. Fr. Jose Rene ‘Bong’ Delariarte for hosting IYAS and the Augustinians who came by!” #IYAS #IYASNationalWritersWorkshop
