Acclaimed journalist Ces Drilon visited the Letizia exhibit, took lovely photos, and posted her reflections on what she encountered. Enjoy!

“Letizia: A Life in Letters is an inspiring and moving exhibit at the Linangan Gallery of the Constantino Foundation. Leticia Roxas Constantino’s letters and journals were given life in a multi sensoral showcase of music, personal belongings, video, photos with letters as if floating in the air. A must see – especially for women. She was an equal partner of historian Renato Constantino and co-wrote the history book, The Philippines: A Past Revisited which opened the eyes of Filipinos to a different perspective of our story. Yung totoo and not from the eyes of our colonizers. What a fascinating woman, her baby books for her children were journals as if they were written in their own voice! She wrote down the recipes when she entertained, along with the guest list and the cost of the food. A stuffed toy her granddaughter @constantkc gave her with a bouquet of flowers, she [READ]

The foundation’s annual provocation for the Fellows of the 24th #IYAS National Writers’ Workshop and students and faculty of the Colegio de San Agustin

The work of IYAS is so vital to nation-building. They hone the craft of writing in Filipino languages, because writers are the keepers of our people’s memory. It was an honor to provide this year’s provocation lecture, this time held at the beautiful Colegio San Agustin in Bacolod. The next day we all went to Sagay.
The Constantino Foundation is a proud supporter of this essential national initiative. As the workshop organizers wrote:
“PULÚS: usefulness, service, help. To some: an obligation, to others, pointless.
“The 24th IYAS La Salle National Writers’ Workshop panelists and fellows spent time at Colegio San Agustin-Bacolod Auditorium yesterday, April 23rd, for the provocation lecture The Importance of Getting Lost: Cognate Endings in a Climate of Uncertainty by Mr. [READ]

Letizia Roxas Constantino’s family marks her 105th birth anniversary with ‘Letizia: A Life in Letters’ exhibit

By Cecille Baltazar | The Philippine Star | April 13, 2025

“In my diary book of quotes, I wrote on the Nov. 17 page: ‘The great use of a life is to spend it for something that outlasts it.’” Letizia Roxas Constantino—passionate nationalist, inspiring teacher, relentless chronicler, and loving wife, mother, and grandmother—wrote those words on a sheet of Stradmore stationery not knowing that she was attesting to her own life.

That letter is just one of many on display for Letizia: A Life in Letters, an immersive exhibit of Letizia’s remarkable life, as told through her letters, photos, diary entries, recipes, mementoes, to-do lists, and audio recordings of her piano playing. Taking it all in, one thought persists: Surely these were accomplished by multiple people. No one person can do all that in just one lifetime.

Except Letizia did do all that, and more.

To commemorate the 105th anniversary of her [READ]

An exhibit of letters penned by writer and historian Letizia Roxas-Constantino, wife of historian Renato Constantino, opened on Wednesday at the Linangan Gallery on Panay Avenue in Quezon City.

“Letizia: A Life in Letters” has on display Intimate letters spanning eight decades, anecdotes of her life, as well as notes of wisdom from the artist that doesn’t just introduce, but hopes to reflect her grace, intellect, heart and substance as a writer, Constantino Foundation managing director Red Constantino, says.

“It is an exhibit that honors the nationalist, the historian, the writer, the generational Filipina that she was. No burloloy, only consition, only substance and something that Letizia embodies, elegance,” he said.

“The exhibit represents a sliver of a fingernail of letters, manuscripts, and other artifacts that she [READ]
